I am as fired up as any time I can remember over the conduct of Democrats and their sock puppets during the aftermath of the Arizona shootings. The enthusiasm with which Democrats have attempted to profit politically from the tragedy is as sick as their attempts to gain from body counts in Iraq.
Old habits die hard, I guess.
Krugman, the idiot, personifies the twisted logic that no tragedy should pass without trying to pin it on Republicans:
Where’s that toxic rhetoric coming from? Let’s not make a false pretense of balance: it’s coming, overwhelmingly, from the right.
He has got to be fucking kidding, right? Krugman isn't just stupid and greedy, he's evil. Sometimes I wonder if he isn't actually a conservative mole with the sole purpose of making Democrats look cheap and sleazy. If so, well done, sir. Not that I needed a reminder, but I'm a believer.
Super compiler Michelle Malkin can take you down the Bush assassination porn, gang rape Palin!, violence frenzy the left has been engaged in since 2000. Krugman, of course, is either blissfully unaware of his own party's filth or chooses to ignore it. Either way, shameful for a nationally syndicated author in an industry that is supposed to strive for truth. If you're looking for something more recent, check the four minutes of Palin assassination fantasy tweets from this week.
Contentions says this is the tipping point in Krugman's embarrassing career. I remember being that naive and hopeful. I commend his sense of hope but there is no chance Krugman's shameful behavior will be anything but a footnote. Not in this world, where all sins against the right are easily forgotten or even celebrated. No doubt there is a standing ovation for Krugman out there somewhere just waiting for him to appear.
Krauthammer - someone who actually knows something about mental illness - offers some explanation of Loughner, the shooter, but even he can't explain Krugman.
For myself, this week brings back memories of watching anti-war protesters advocating violence against soldiers and attacking recruiting offices, abortion supporters destroying memorials, and the with-each-day-comes-more-violent-speech-against-Bush we lived for eight years. All the while I waited for someone of the left to say something. Never once.
To hear them now, so concerned with the future of the nation, reminds me not that "we are all Americans." It reminds me nothing is sacred to left-Americans when it comes to smearing Republicans. A dead body is an opportunity to them, not a tragedy.
Obama wants us all to take a step back and treat each other better. If he had said that four years ago, I would have had great respect for his courage, but he was right there with the hate-mongers then. He might be more subtle, but he sounds like just another of the weasels, waking up to the barn long after the cattle is gone.
For eight years I, and conservatives in general, were treated like baby killing scum by the left. Any action against conservatives was "justifiable" for the good of the planet and society. Death was wished upon many, and celebrated when it occurred.
I didn't always hate the left, I just disagreed with them. Their beneath contempt behavior during the Bush years made me actually hate. This last week has served as a stark reminder why.

No sympathy here
I'm not sure which is more absurd in this column by Tim Rutten; the almost biblical terms in which the far left sees a man whose "legend" remains strictly potential, or how he characterizes the response to Obama being awarded something for...well...nothing:
It would have been unthinkable a few years ago that the opposition party would not have at least extended the president perfunctory congratulations for this honor; he is, after all, the head of state.
I guess it depends on how you define "few."
It's not so much the revision of Obama - from the moment he was elected - which seeks to write history before it even occurs; it's the revision of the years 2000-2008, during which the left - apparently - would have found it "unthinkable" to act in a manner lacking respect for the "head of state."
I don't particularly care for some of the criticism of Obama. I have no time for birthers. But I have no sympathy for a left suddenly "appalled" at the tone. The left created this atmosphere every day for eight years. As far as I'm concerned they can eat it. They bought it, they own it.

It's a Sickness
At HuffPo, will the attacks on Sarah Palin using her children ever cease?
In Sarah Palin’s resignation announcement she complained about the treatment of her son Trig who always teaches her life lessons. She said that the “world needs more Trigs, not fewer.” That’s a presidential campaign promise we can all get behind. She will be the first politician to actually try to increase the population of retarded people.
Too bad HuffPo pulled this insidious post. The world would know the left much better if it didn't have such easy access to the "delete" key.
Read the post in its entirety here.
Over at TPM, a really classy joke:
Q: What's the difference between Sarah Palin's mouth and her vagina.
A: Only some of the things that come out of her vagina are retarded.
Of course, the world would be so much better if the right wasn't so hateful.

Lockjaw
For the record, I hope Sarah Palin never removes her teeth from David Letterman's neck.
What an awful thing to say, one of those things it is only okay to say about conservative women and their families. Once again, "feminists" have proven to be a bunch of frauds who could care less if women are exploited, insulted, and degraded, as long as those women aren't feminists.
If the pervert David Letterman said that about my daughter I would kick his ass. He is an un-funny, tiny-minded troll who has long outlasted his entertainment value.
Give it up David. You suck. You're an embarrassment.

Guidance Requested
In a continuing effort by the Dead Tree Media to pretend blogs matter, Les Enfants in-house drive-by contrarian Loaf Light thinks Teaparty and the art of blogging would make a great feature story for the Valley Wire (I'd love to give you a link, but the Valley Wire is highly devoted to its wagon wheel medium).
I know what you're thinking. Why would an astute blogger such as myself subject his craft and superior opinions to this site's resident drooler? Well, believe it or not (probably not) he is actually an extremely gifted writer who, despite being a dirty Socialist and aimless rambler, would likely spin a fabulous yarn. Not to mention, it would finally give him something to write about other than his used camper.
Negotiations continue, but I thought I would put the question to the vast and highly intelligent Les Enfants readership. Should I do it? Should I politely decline? Or should I tell him to shove his story idea right up his arse?

Obama's Privacy Invaded!
Clarence Page becomes the latest fool to fall for the delusion that facts regarding Joe the Plumber's life have anything to do with Obama's "share the wealth" moment. But this statement has to be the pinnacle of stupidity:
Obama's conversation with Joe predictably hit the Internet and the conservative talk show circuit. This is, after all, the YouTube era. What we used to call privacy is now only footage that has not yet been broadcast.
Obama, I guess, has a right to privacy on the campaign trail for public office. I wonder if Page would feel the same way if Obama had hit the answer out of the park instead of swallowing his own foot.
I can only come up with one answer that explains the modern American pundits' continuing to embrace such foolish notions. They think we are idiot enough to buy it.

Yearnists
Beware Amerithugs, Europe is watching:
Until now, anti-Americanism has been exaggerated and much misunderstood: outside a leftist hardcore, it has mostly been anti-Bushism, opposition to this specific administration. But if McCain wins in November, that might well change. Suddenly Europeans and others will conclude that their dispute is with not only one ruling clique, but Americans themselves. For it will have been the American people, not the politicians, who will have passed up a once-in-a-generation chance for a fresh start - a fresh start the world is yearning for.
You heard it here; elect Obama or the world will have unfulfilled yearning.

MTV Host Mocks Those Who Don't Support Obama Racists
Is there any chance Russell Brand could campaign for Obama on a full-time basis?
“Now, as a representative of the global community and a visitor from abroad, I don’t want to come across a little bit biased, but could I please ask of you people of America, to PLEASE ELECT BARACK OBAMA. Please! On behalf of the world. (Camera pans to singers Chris Brown and Britney Spears applauding and cheering.) Some people, I think they’re called racists, say that America is not ready for a black president. But I know America to be a forward-thinking country, right. Because, otherwise, you know, would you have let that retarded cowboy fellow be president for eight years?
We were very impressed. It was nice of you to let him have a go. Because in England, George Bush wouldn’t be trusted with a pair of scissors.
I am obliged by broadcasting law to show some balance in this situation, which means, uh, the Republicans might be alright. Sarah Palin. She’s a VILF! A vice president I’d like to…fumble, fondle, I dunno. I do feel a little bit sorry for her daughter, getting pregnant, poor kid. Is it a boy? Is it a girl? It’s a P.R. stunt. Come on. Be honest.
And I feel most sorry for that poor teenaged father. Boy. One minute, he’s just a teenaged lad in Alaska having joyful, unprotected sex. And the next minute: Get to the Republican convention. I think that is the best safe sex message of all time. Use a condom or become Republican! …That boy will spend the rest of his life masturbating while wearing a condom…
…New music, new president, and brand new America. And you people deserve it after eight years of Bush. I promise you, you deserve it…
Wow. England's left-wing is as crazy and vile as ours. Poor bloody English bastards.

Surreal
VP pick Sarah Palin scored on a breakaway tonight (I’m sick of baseball analogies). I think the Dems far overplayed their hand leading up to her speech tonight, harping on her lack of experience. But a great speech won’t be enough to get her harshest critics on board; feminists who have spent their entire lives trying to get women in positions of power. Here’s Sally Quinn:
I would like to know what women think of Sarah Palin’s judgment in accepting the role as McCain’s running mate, knowing the pain and humiliation the publicity would cause her daughter, the boyfriend and the soon-to-be-born grandchild. (By the way, this is not about whether mothers should work. We answered that question a long time ago. Of course they should and most of them have to. This is about this particular woman with her particular family situation putting herself in a position to be the commander in chief of the most powerful country in the world.)
Just last week the nation celebrated the “18 million cracks” put in the glass ceiling by Hillary Clinton. A week later, it is the feminist movement working overtime to repair those cracks.

They Can't Link
You gotta love the internet. Please see Palin Sexism Watch for all the blatant examples of sexism where Sarah Palin is concerned. Five days into her candidacy the site already has 16 posts.
One great example is the digging up of the fact Palin's husband got a DWI over 20 years ago. As Newt Gingrich noted tonight, wasn't that about the same time Obama was experimenting with cocaine?
(Chirp. Chirp.)
The Obama cheerleaders in the media are about to be embarrassed in a big way.

Hypocrisy Tell-All on Hold!
Now we might never get to see Bernie Ward's book about Republicans and hypocrisy:
Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker sentenced Ward to seven years and three months in federal prison, calling the disgraced celebrity a "troubled individual'' whose downfall is a "personal tragedy.'' ...The 57-year-old Ward pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of distributing child pornography, the result of an investigation that was triggered by his online chats with an online dominatrix who turned him in to police when she grew concerned about images he had of young children.
Said Steve Grocki of the Justice Department, "He traded in the currency of human suffering." That's real suffering, not the kind experienced when Barack Obama gives a speech.

Krugmen Condemned for Condemning
Mmm. Nothing like waking up to a good old fashioned scientific smack-down of Paul Krugman:
Krugman advocates: painting those who do not agree with him as not just wrong but immoral. That is to say, not just wrong, but evil. Krugman, limited in imagination as he is, cannot conceive that anybody could possibly disagree with him, nor look at the same data and come to a different conclusion. People that fail to accord with him are not just making a mistake, they are being mischievous. Krugman is not the first to suffer from this kind of delusion.
"Limited in imagination as he is." Tasty.

Great minds?
I swear I had this exact same thought about a week ago, after tuning in to watch O'Reilly for the first time in about six months. I think I'll give it another six months.

The Future is Now
Blogger suggests author conduct policy at team site, including the use of "updates" to minimize comment section monopoly.
Blogger adheres to said policy.
YoungAngryJournalist (YAJ) says: You're not following your own policy!!!! You are so feeble! And uncreative!
Blogger uses suggested policy (scroll) of "update" to point out for YAJ that "update" is suggested policy. Cautions against premature determination.
The high-water mark, YAJ, after much introspection, admits he is "no perfect."
But wait! YAJ is perfect, and demonstrates it by retracting "no perfect" comment, fashions an entirely new argument out of whole cloth, declares victory!, and offers advice to vanquished blogger.
Behold the future of journalism.

A buyer for everything
The SF Chronicle's Mark Morford really, really, really, really, really, really, really, likes Barack Obama:
Barack Obama isn't really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway...
...it's not merely his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric. It is not fresh ideas or cool charisma or the fact that a black president will be historic and revolutionary in about a thousand different ways. It is something more. Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn't have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity.
Sheezus. And Morford is barely tuning up. Two graphs later he says Obama will "usher in a new way of being on the planet."
If anyone ever decides to put an official Barack Obama bowel movement on E-Bay, I think we've identified a buyer.

Promise?
I'm one of those conservative voters who is, at best, lukewarm on John McCain. Today though, Susan Sarandon made a difficult decision much, much easier:
She says if John McCain gets elected, she will move to Italy or Canada.
If we could get that in writing, I might go so far as to actually campaign for McCain.

A Symbol For All Time
One begins to wonder if the Barack Obama assassination talk is more fantasy than simple prediction.
Seeing as how the last two attempts were of Republican presidents and only unhinged losers believe Paul Wellstone's plane crash was anything but an unfortunate accident, it begs the question: Is the left in this country looking for a president, or a martyr?

Press Shunned, Left Celebrates
To steal a phrase from Glenn Reynolds: They said if Bush were re-elected there would be intimidation of the press, and they were right!
Unfortunately, that intimidation came from a Barack Obama staffer, who tried to take away Bill O'Reilly's constitutional right to cover a public campaign event. Here's the video.
When an Obama staffer intentionally stepped in front of O'Reilly's camera, Bill got testy. He did instruct the staffer, Marvin Nicholson, to get out of the shot multiple times before attempting to physically remove him from the shot. At one point in the video, O'Reilly called the staffer "low class" and an S.O.B.
Naturally, for all their whining about freedom of the press, intimidation, access, yada-yada-yada, when a full blown incident occurs where a reporter is prevented from exercising his right to cover a public event, the left celebrates:
"Cuff him," says DuH, where commenters are only bummed the Secret Service didn't physically assault O'Reilly. At DailyKos, 60 percent of readers wish the Secret Service would have "tazed" him. At HuffPo, the headline reads, "Secret Service Restrains Out-Of-Control O'Reilly."
The NY Daily News found no shortage of Obama supporters who were traumatized by the sight of a reporter refusing to be bullied:
"[O'Reilly] was just a crazy person," a photographer who witnessed the altercation told The Daily News. "He throws a complete fit, and then the Secret Service came in."
***
A woman in the crowd, who witnessed who witnessed the incident, exclaimed, "I'm never going to watch that man again. I don't believe this!"
Ya, I'm sure she was a devoted fan before.
I've been in situations where doing your job means waiting on the sidelines for that 10 to 15 second window in which to get your story. I must say I too would have pitched a fit if an employee of a public official intentionally, and illegally, tried to prevent me from doing my job. And I don't think there can be any doubt Nicholson was doing it intentionally, unless he's hearing impaired.
In any case, it certainly isn't a good thing for Obama to have a staffer trying to suppress a guy who is consistently in first place for the most coveted prime time slot in cable news.
Personally, I salute O'Reilly's determination to fulfill his constitutionally protected duties. The left would feel the same way too, if they stopped long enough to see beyond their shallow ideology.

Cut the Fat, Not the Meat
NBC's feeling it:
NBC boss Jeff Zucker is expected to make big cuts on the newsgathering and operational side of the company's news division, including eliminating an entire level of MSNBC's management team, in a bid to save between $20 million and $40 million, The Post has learned.
Sources inside or close to NBC yesterday claimed the cuts, which are expected to come down this week or next, will be weighted evenly between NBC News and MSNBC.
Now for the good news:
...the shows hosted by Chris Matthews, (and) Keith Olbermann...are sacrosanct and won't be affected by any of the cuts.
Whew.
