Let The Games Begin

Anyone who thought we might get a breather from leftist hysteria, what with several federal court nominees appointed, Bush's speech going over well, and Social Security protected from the evils of capitalism for the moment. Sandra Day O'Connor just announced her retirement from the Supreme Court, and President Bush has pledged to waste little time finding a replacement.

And, just as naturally as the spread of cancer cells, the left is already hysterical about the "radical right" puppet that will replace her.

''We'll look back on Justice O'Connor as someone who put reason ahead of ideological fervor, which stands her in stark contrast to many of the judges who might replace her if the radical right gets its way,'' said Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America.

NARAL, of course, is willing to give O'Connor this high praise for her affirmation of Roe vs Wade and, despite the fact that the country is very much divided on the issue of abortion, NARAL and the rest of the hysterical left will paint any nominee who doesn't fit lock-step into an abortion on demand mentality as "radical."

The White House is floating the idea of a Alberto Gonzales nomination, which would probably not change the make-up of the court all that much. Personally I would prefer to see a more conservative nomination. Regardless, any nomination short of Che Geuvara is sure to create something akin to a leftist rapture.

So, rest up all of you radical right-wing theocratic Nazi's. The fight is about to begin, and it is sure to be the bloodiest yet.
