Gore Effect Comes to Town

Via Tom D., last noted in New Hampshire by Tim Blair, the Gore Effect is about to hit the Twin Cities with a vengeance.

Cause - Host global warming conference:

Risk and Response to Global Warming andEnvironmental Change:
Lessons from Cross-National and Global Social Science Research

When: Thursday, January 25 and Friday January 26, 2007
Where: Cowles Auditorium

The Gore Effect - Temperatures plummet:

Local weather reaches 40 degrees on Friday, but will steadily drop to 6 degrees by Saturday evening. That's a 34 degree swing with no sign of warmer weather in sight. Expect highs in the teens all next week.

Thanks a bunch Al.

UPDATE: Woke up to at least two inches of snow and counting.

UPDATE: In other news, add terrorism to the growing list of social ills caused by global warming:

“You have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gases more than any other nation in history. Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement so that you can secure the profit of your greedy companies and industries,” al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden wrote in a 2002 “letter to the American people.”
