A message to Twin Cities television news stations:
It's two inches.
TWO INCHES!
Is it really necessary to have live news feeds from almost every exit along the freeway from Lino Lakes to Burnsville?
The news has been on for 20 minutes now and it has been nothing but road and weather reports. Some guy standing at 35-W and Washington. Then some lady standing at 494 and France Ave. "It's wet. It's slippery. Back to you."
I just heard a trooper actually say, "It's not a very healthy driving environment out there right now." I submit that motorists who are watching the report on television right now have bigger problems than slippery roads.
Of course, it wouldn't be complete without the obligatory report from Minneapolis - St. Paul International.
It's like I woke up in Texas this morning.
This is Minnesota. It snows. Sometimes alot. I know it is important to create a sense of frenzy so people feel compelled to watch the news, but give us a break.
It's two inches.
UPDATE: It's official. A full half-hour coverage of the dark side of a white Christmas. Complete with graphics.
