More Squashing of Dissent

A pox on Dick Cheney, who had the temerity to point out the obvious; that the Murtha/Pelosi Iraq plan would be detrimental to winning in Iraq:

"You cannot say as the president of the United States, 'I welcome disagreement in a time of war,' and then have the vice president of the United States go out of the country and mischaracterize a position of the speaker of the House and in a manner that says that person in that position of authority is acting against the national security of our country," the speaker said.

There are so many things wrong with this. Since when is it wrong to "go out of the country" to talk about foreign policy? The left has been doing that for years. Also, are we no longer celebrating the high honor of dissent? Or, is this another one of those cases where all dissent is not created equal?

Democrats are scraping bottom if simply voicing criticism of a policy, in the terms of the policy, is now regarded as "questioning patriotism." Of course, when that is all you have...

UPDATE: The Fredericksburg Freak's politics are now out in the open:

"...when they aren't wetting their pants over a code-red alert from boy George, Republicans are activley f***ing little boys. All of them, no exceptions."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing. I'm sure Andrew Stone is as much a patriot as the next guy.
