Victoria Toensing reveals the depths of the absudity in the trial of Scooter Libby in "Trial in Error."
For those who don't follow the case, Fitzgerald's behavior has been appalling. He has known that Richard Armitage was the leak since Oct. 1, 2003, and has known that Valerie Plame was not covert since December of the same year.
Toensing also lays out the disparities between treatment given witnesses. She also delves into the many lies of Joseph Wilson, the media, the CIA, and others, in the form of her own indictments. It's a good read.
The column leaves the reader with two questions: Why is Libby on trial in the first place? And, since he is, why aren't a host of other witnesses with equally bad memories?
