Ripped From the Headlines

Via Tim Blair, the global media is reporting 2006 as the "sixth warmest on record." The Reference Frame points out what is missing from the headline; 2006 is the coldest of the last five years:

* colder than 2005
* colder than 2004
* colder than 2003
* colder than 2002
* ... and, most obviously, ...
* colder than 1998,

This is news to GD1, who sent this as evidence skeptics are wrong:




To which The Reference Frame might respond:

...we live in an era of a spectacularly inexpensive propaganda...

Nevertheless, it is hard to argue with the shrinking undapants theory of global warming. The problem is, it doesn't quite inspire a desperate desire to reverse the trend.
