Chief Justice William Rehnquist has not retired as of yet. Rumors abound that he has decided to put it off until next week, as to not step all over events happening in London right now.
When asked his intenentions by a reporter though, Rehnquist repsonded only with:
"That's for me to know and you to find out."
Oh that's rich. No one can acccuse Rehnquist of lacking a flair for the dramatic.
Actually, I kind of feel sorry for him. The "retirement watch," isn't really that far removed from a death watch is it? Rehnquist finds himself in the middle of this rather morbidly fascinating swarm.
At least he appears to be enjoying it.
