The Party of Liars At It Again

Judging by the Democratic Party sound-bites from directly after Bush's speech last night, it is clear that they all got their talking points memo, and the talking point is Bush's use of 9/11 references in relation to the war on terror?

From Pelosi to Kerry, Reid to Durbin, and everyone in between, there is unanimous outrage that a President of the United States would reference the single-most significant attack on American soil in the context of a speech discussing the very war that resulted.

Am I missing something here?

Pelosi's remarks are typical of the whole bunch:

"The president's frequent references to the terrorist attacks of September 11 show the weakness of his arguments. He is willing to exploit the sacred ground of 9/11, knowing that there is no connection between 9/11 and the war in Iraq," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

According to Pelosi, it is weak to note that we are in a war on terror because of the events of 9/11. I wonder what would be acceptable to her. Should we say that we are in a war on terror because the French don't bathe on Sunday? How about because Californians can't play hockey? Is that why we are in a war on terror?

We are in a war on terror because the events of 9/11 shook this country awake from it's long slumber of complacency regarding Islamic terrorism. That, according to Pelosi, is a weak argument. What an idiot she is. Rube city.

Also, she says there is no connection between 9/11 and the war in Iraq. This is similar to other Democratic idiots who today have been trying to nail Bush with drawing a link between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein last night. Here is a link to the text of the speech. I invite anyone to go find me that quote. For that matter, find me any quote, anywhere, in which George W. Bush said that Saddam Hussein was directly responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

Pelosi, and her politically retarded cohorts, couldn't possibly be more obtuse. We are in a war with Islamic terrorism. Not al Qaida, not Saddam Hussein, and not even Osama Bin Laden. Islamic terrorists and all who harbor them. Hussein had plenty of links to organized terrorism, from training camps to financial aid for terrorist bombers. Even the 9/11 Commission acknowledged that...openly. Christ on a crutch, even CBS knew it.

The left is spinning like tops today because that is all they have in the way of opposition to the war in Iraq. Spin. Everything that has fallen out of their mouths today by way of characterizing Bush's speech last night is a flat out lie. When they say there is no connection between Hussein and terrorism it is a lie. When they say that Bush is trying to link Hussein directly to 9/11 that is a lie. Since that is about the entirety of what they are saying today, they are, by definition, liars.
