MILWAUKEE IS A STUDY IN VOTER FRAUD and the tally of fraudulent ballots has been climbing for months. Of no surprise is that John Kerry was the benefactor in this widespread assault on democracy. In fact, it is widespread enough that some have theorized in the last couple of months that Wisconsin is actually "back in play" regarding the 2004 election. Hinderaker reminded me of this growing scandal.
According to the Journal-Sentinal:
Investigators said Tuesday they found clear evidence of fraud in the Nov. 2 election in Milwaukee, including more than 200 cases of felons voting illegally and more than 100 people who voted twice, used fake names or false addresses or voted in the name of a dead person.
As many as 4,609 fraudulent votes have been identified in a state that Kerry won by roughly 11,000 votes. The fraud appears to have centered on Milwaukee, which went for Kerry by 71%. Even in Milwaukee that's a huge margin especially in such a hotly contested race.
Chris Lato, spokesman for the state Republican Party said:
"Wisconsin is starting to look like the new Chicago of election fraud. It's conceivable that George W. Bush won Wisconsin. As these numbers pile up, that notion becomes less and less out there."
The Wisconsin Republican Party has been busy trying to address this problem through legislating a photo ID requirement for voting. After all, protecting the legitimacy of democratic elections is perhaps the most important duty we have, in the long run. If we can't trust elections, why would anyone vote in the first place?
Did I mention that Wisconsin Democrats are currently engaged in an all out blocking effort of the legislation? Apparently they don't see fraud that favors their candidate as a problem worth addressing.
ELSEWHERE IN WISCONSIN, they are handing out nifty prizes to 11-year-olds.
Some Wisconsin middle-school students got to take home souvenirs from a health fair -- condoms.
An AIDS education group was handing out the prophylactics at the health fair organized by North Central Health Care in Wausau. The idea was to educate the middle-schoolers on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.
Handing out condoms to teach kids about drugs and alcohol? Sounds just crazy enough to be the brain-child of a liberal.
