THE LONDON TIMES IS NOW REPORTING THAT ZARQAWI may be seriously wounded. This follows a report from an Iraqi military officer from earlier in the week of the same. This latest claim comes from a doctor who described treating Zarqawi.
The doctor told an Iraqi reporter in the western city of Ramadi that Zarqawi was bleeding heavily when he was brought into hospital on Wednesday. After treating his wounds the doctor tried to persuade him to remain, but the Jordanian-born terrorist’s minders drove him away.
The claim was supported yesterday by a senior commander in the Iraqi resistance who had been to Ramadi to investigate the report.
Only time will tell if these reports are in fact true, or turn out to be rumors making the journey up the pipeline. But, a footnote at the end of the story adds credibility and a touch of irony at the same time. Zarqawi's handlers...
...then produced a wad of US dollars to secure his silence.
Undoubtedly the car Zarqawi was traveling in was just too small to carry the equivilent in dinars.
