DEMOCRATIC SENATOR PATRICK LEAHY is the latest victim of the FoxNews propoganda machine, after he was viciously attacked by "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace. Wallace, who had been mascarading as a fair journalist, launched into Leahy with a blatantly partisan question, one that never fails to reveal a reporter's right-wing extremist credentials.

WALLACE: Senator, what's your idea to fix Social Security?

Can you believe this guy? Luckily for the Democrats, Leahy was well prepared for this partisan blind-side. Or was he?

LEAHY: Well, you know, I'd like to see the president being willing to really engage in a bipartisan debate. He has said, basically: This is my plan, take it or leave it. I said there is a problem. Of course, when he ran for the House of Representatives years ago, he said Social Security is about to go bankrupt in a few years. It didn't. Here he said: I've defined a problem, where is the Democrats' answer? That's sort of like saying: The war in Iraq (inaudible) a problem, we've got weapons of mass destruction there, so we've got to go in.

WALLACE: Senator, if I may...

LEAHY: No, but if I could answer the question...

WALLACE: Well, I'm not sure you have, though, because I'm asking you for what your idea is.

LEAHY: My idea is to be able to have the president put everything on the table. He's said that he won't negotiate on any of his points. You know, that's sort of a nonstarter...(insert mindless babble and rehash of previous non-answer here)

Later, after Leahy also refuses to answer related questions, Wallace gives him one more shot to perhaps be a little more specific about a Democratic plan for Social Security. What a shameless hack.

WALLACE: But, Senator, I still haven't heard a single idea of yours as to how to fix Social Security.

LEAHY: My idea is that we sit down and have a true bipartisan negotiation. The president seems unwilling to do that.

WALLACE: OK.

The partisan Wallace needs to hone his craft. His mad rantings made the interview much longer than it had to be. Here's how the interview should have gone, as outlined by the "Main Stream Media Investigative Guidelines."

WALLACE: Senator, do the Democrats have a plan for Social Security?

LEAHY: Of course we do.

WALLACE: OK.

It's always a pleasure to see my almost "favorite" liberal senator appropriately skewered or more properly.. hoisted on his own petard.
