CAPCOMM ADDS TO THE LOCAL FLAVA' with his own blog, including this early anecdote on Norm "The Pitbull" Coleman's transformation from Democrat to Republican.

Senator Coleman while Democrat Mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota is the one who pulled me to the right through his own political transition to republicanism while he defended the city's landlords (I was among them at the time) against punitive licensing and fees, that as he explained, would in the end, hurt the poor who rely on affordable housing. His veto maintained affordable housing as it existed for many of the city's poor for around three years after the new regulations were proposed...

Of course, the city council took care of that after The Pitbull left that office for better things.

Before becoming the most tenacious American politician in regards to the OFF scandal, Coleman was the only modern politician to get a sports facility deal done in this state and brought the NHL back in the process. In a word, he overcomes.

As Cap suggests, Galloway may have had the short-sighted satisfaction of a self-serving tantrum on the senate floor, but Coleman is a long-haul kind of guy.

Galloway more likely achieved sealing his own fate than any goal he had in mind.
